7Fabs Prototype Tolerance & Appearance Disclaimer

1. Nature of the work

Unless a quote expressly states otherwise, all parts produced by 7Fabs are prototype, first-article, or low-volume fabricated goods, not mass-produced or precision-certified production parts. Processes may include FDM/SLA/SLS 3D printing, CNC machining, laser/sheet cutting, and hand-finishing.

2. Dimensional tolerance

Unless a specific tolerance is stated and agreed in writing on the quote, 7Fabs targets but does not guarantee tolerances tighter than Details pending professional review.. Tighter tolerances must be requested and separately quoted, and may not be achievable with every process/material combination.

3. Appearance and surface finish

3D-printed and cut parts may show layer lines, print artifacts, support marks, minor warping, color variation between batches, and other cosmetic characteristics inherent to the process and material. Unless the quote specifies a finishing step (sanding, painting, bead-blasting, etc.), parts are delivered in as-printed/as-cut condition. Color match to a reference image or Pantone swatch is approximate unless a color-matched finishing service is separately quoted.

4. Material behavior

Material properties (strength, flexibility, heat resistance, UV stability) vary by process and material and are provided as general guidance, not engineering guarantees, unless a specific material data sheet and application review is part of the quoted scope. The Customer is responsible for confirming a material/process is fit for its intended application, including any regulatory, safety, or load-bearing requirements.

5. First article / iteration expectation

Because most 7Fabs work is prototype or first-article, minor deviations from the design intent may occur on the first unit produced. Where a project includes multiple iterations, each iteration's tolerance/appearance expectations reset based on feedback from the prior iteration.

6. Customer review responsibility

The Customer is responsible for reviewing photos, dimensions, or a physical sample provided by 7Fabs (where applicable) before approving production of additional quantities, and for flagging any nonconformance promptly per the Payment/Refund/Cancellation Policy.

7. Relationship to other terms

This disclaimer is incorporated by reference into every quote and does not limit remedies available under the Payment/Refund/Cancellation Policy for parts that fall outside the tolerances actually agreed in writing.
